visions of a nomad

Michael Cuming is the founder and composer for Visions of a Nomad, a group that plays an eclectic mix of World Jazz Fusion and Classically influenced music.

The group's highly original repertoire is both, evocative and energetic and heavily accompanied by the didgeridoo.  They like to make music with "substance", a cohesion of art and music acessible to the masses, covering all genres and drawing on all of the world's musical influences.

Internationally acclaimed, this group has received rave reviews on their tour's around the globe! These Aussie Nomads like to cross musical boundaries and they never fail to experiment, this is not your average "band".

Michael is known to play up to 3 instruments simultaneously, he plays instruments in unusual combination, ie: harp and harmonica or harp and didgeridoo, keyboards and didgeridoo and kicktriggers, percussion and didgeridoo or guitar and didgeridoo. Michael has an impressive resume of achievement, including producing an aboriginal smoking ceremony for the Cultural Olympiad as part of the Olympics in Athens, a documentary on the work with ARC dreaming under the name “Long road to Olympia:, he has written a score for National geographic and just finished a new cd under the name DEEP EXCAVATION which saw its release at the Darling Harbour Blues and Jazz festival on the 23rd of May this year.
